Hi, I’m Sarah - and if you’re here, chances are you’ve seen firsthand how tough this profession has become. I certainly have!
I went into veterinary medicine because I cared deeply. Many of us did.
But over time, the pressure, responsibility and emotional load wore down my confidence, my passion and my sense of self. Eventually, I had to step away to protect my wellbeing.
For a decade, I worked as a management consultant helping global organisations improve culture, leadership and wellbeing. More recently, I became an ICF-certified coach and immersed myself in neuroscience and positive psychology, trying to understand one question:
Why are so many caring, capable veterinary professionals losing their self-trust and joy - and what can we do about it?
Positivity in Practice exists because the answer isn’t simple, and it isn’t just individual. It’s systemic. The people on the front line are running on empty. Managers feel stuck in the middle. Leaders are pressured from above and blamed from below. No one is thriving.
You’re not broken.
The system is.
But systems are made of people - and people can change.
That's why I created Positivity in Practice.
First, we're focusing on the individuals who feel it the most, helping them rebuild their confidence, restore self-trust and rediscover the passion that first brought them into this profession. From there, we support teams, managers and organisations to create healthier, more sustainable and profitable ways of working - one person, one team, one culture at a time.
I don’t have all the answers yet. But I’m not waiting for someone else to fix this!
If not us, then who?
If not now, then when?
Together, we can make veterinary medicine the dream career we imagined.💛
